If you’ve reached this corner of the website, you may have contacted one of our SØ callsigns, assigned by the ARRL to licensed stations operating in the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
We are currently experiencing a period of very poor propagation, with some very unusual and little-known situations.
Keep in mind that we transmit from a region of the world with extreme weather conditions, which affects the performance of radio equipment and antennas.
The desert wind (Sirocco) also contributes to the noise (QRN) produced by the small particles it carries at high speeds.
This noise (QRN) makes reception difficult, and you might hear us perfectly while we can’t hear you. Please bear this in mind.

Our activity

The radio stations of the Sahrawi Republic are active on all HF bands assigned to amateur radio operators, from 160 meters (1.8 MHz) to 10 meters (28 MHz).
When ionization conditions are favorable, you may hear us on 50 MHz (6 meters) and 70 MHz (4 meters), and we may also be on other frequencies within the assigned spectrum.
Regarding modes, we are QRV on the most popular ones such as SSB, CW, and digital modes, and we may occasionally use other modes.
SATELLITE: The QO-100 (Es’hail Sat), a geostationary satellite located 35,786 km from Earth at the 25.9° latitude, allows communication with thousands of amateur radio operators on several continents (Europe, Africa, the Middle East, parts of Brazil, and Asia), and we will be QRV whenever possible.
